Things to do around Shuttington  

Shuttington offers easy access to a range of amenities all within walking distance, with a Village Supermarket, Post Office, Hair Salon, Local Pub and the Parish Hall, home of Shuttington Parish Council who provide opportunities to participate in local decision-making and contribute to the local community. Residents describe Shuttington as a peaceful, quiet and safe place to live, encouraged by the strong sense of community and friendly atmosphere.

If the Village Supermarket doesn’t have what you’re after, there is an ALDI just 3.6 miles away in the neighbouring town of Amington. A further 3-mile drive will lead you to Tamworth offering a wide variety of supermarkets such as Lidl, Morrisons, ASDA and Sainsburys. Tamworth is also home to a variety of independent shops, cafes and restaurants as well as Ankerside Shopping Centre and Ventura Retail Park providing a range of high-street stores. If it is fresh produce and local goods you are after, head to the market on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Shuttington is beautifully surrounded by countryside and home to several historic buildings such as the 12th century St Matthew’s Church. To make the most of the country side head to Statfold Country Park and Pooley Park Nature Reserve, perfect for dog owners. Dog Training sessions are held every Thursday evening in Parish Hall. Other community activities at the Parish Hall include Austrey Archery Group, who meet on Saturday afternoons, as well as regular Coffee Mornings, held on the first Monday of the month.

A stones throw away, in Tamworth you’ll find lots of fun activities for all ages such as Tamworth Castle, Daytona Outdoor Go Karting, ODEON Luxe and Snow Dome  Indoor Ski Centre all less than 5 miles away.

Schools in Shuttington 

Parents in Shuttington can take advantage of the area’s wide range of schools, all rated ‘good’ by Ofted. For younger children, Florendine Primary, Amington Heath and Garden Village Primary Schools are nearby. Older children can attend Landau Forte Academy, Two Rivers High School, or The Polesworth School. All schools are currently rated “Good” by Ofsted

Excellent Transport Connections

The village boasts excellent transport connections to local towns, cities, and destinations both nationally and internationally.

The 785 and 786 bus routes provide direct links to Tamworth and allow onward travel to various destinations. Tamworth railway station is also close by, offering connections to major cities like Birmingham and London.

If it’s international travel you’re after, Birmingham Airport located around half an hour away by car will be your main port of call for direct flights across the world.

The M42 runs past Shuttington one of the major motorways in the Midlands connecting to the M5 and M6 for onwards journeys across the county.
