WITH four sales in a month and the chance to make a summer move, new homes in Darwen are hot properties.
Elan Homes has seen a renewed level of interest in homes at Tower Gardens in recent weeks.
It's attributed the flurry of sales to a combination of factors including buyers selling existing properties put on the market earlier in the year; the competitive price; location; the chance to make substantial savings on household bills thanks to the energy efficiency of the homes, which also makes them eligible for “green mortgages” and the ease of living a new build offers.
Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, said: “We have seen an increase in enquiries in recent weeks which has in turn boosted sales. We sold four homes here in the last month alone – an indicator that the housing market in Darwen is hotting up. We’re also working with people who have an existing property to sell and are exploring how we can best help them sell up and move on with either our EasyMove scheme or part exchange.
“People want to live here for a variety of reasons. It’s great for families as it’s close to Lower Darwen Primary School. Others are attracted by the promise of lower energy bills and the chance to save almost £2,200* a year by moving from an older house to a new one. In some cases, it’s simply because they want a home where they won’t have to worry about repairs and renovations – they can simply move in as soon as it’s built.”
The new homes are being built off Milking Lane, within a 10-minute drive of a choice of supermarkets. Darwen town centre is easily accessible and is home to a mix of independent businesses plus a thriving market, while the market square hosts a variety of events.
Current prices at Tower Gardens start from £249,995 for a three-bedroom detached Marford. Four-bedroom homes are available from £299,995.
A small number of homes have already been constructed or are nearly complete.
Those who buy now could find they’re just weeks away from moving. To help buyers make the most of their outside space this summer, selected homes are available with turfed rear garden. Some also include flooring throughout and/or an upgraded kitchen.
The show home at Tower Gardens is open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5pm. For more information about the new homes in Darwen see https://www.elan-homes.co.uk/developments/tower-gardens.
