SAVERS could become buyers with the offer of a £10,000 deposit boost on selected new homes in Lichfield.
Elan Homes is offering the incentive at The Sidings, an intimate development of just eight new houses. Designed to help boost customers’ borrowing power, it’s available on the two-bedroom Johnson style property.
Regional sales director Tracey Ball explained: “Deposit boost is our way of helping dreams of homeownership become a reality. The scheme is designed to support homebuyers by boosting their savings so that their money goes further. It should increase the mortgage options available to buyers, giving them access to more competitive interest rates and lower monthly repayments. This in turn will potentially improve the range of homes that are within their budget.
“To help potential purchasers assess their finances, we have a mortgage checker on our website. It’s a fantastic, free to use tool that can help people work out how much they could borrow and how much their mortgage repayments would be, without affecting their credit score.”
The two-bedroom Johnson, available with a £10,000 deposit boost, is priced from £330,000.
The deposit boost is payable at the time of completion and is subject to the lender’s criteria.
The Johnson features a combined kitchen and dining room at the front. The lounge is at the rear and has French doors leading out to the garden. Upstairs, the main bedroom benefits an en-suite, effectively leaving the family bathroom to serve the other bedroom.
For those who want a larger home, the three-bedroom Garrick is available, from £380,000. In this house style the lounge is at the front, with an open kitchen and dining room at the rear with French doors opening onto the garden.
Upstairs, there are three bedrooms, one with en-suite, plus the family bathroom.
Both properties benefit a downstairs cloakroom.
“February is one of the coldest months of the year and the recent cold snap has helped highlight the energy efficiency of new homes. Research by the HBF suggests those living in a new house could save 63% on their energy bills, compared with those living in an older one,” Tracey added.
“Plus, because our homes are energy efficient, they can be purchased using green mortgages. These are available from selected lenders and in some cases have better interest rates than traditional mortgage products.”
As the development name suggests, the homes at The Sidings are being built close to the Birmingham Cross City railway line. Lichfield City and Lichfield Trent Valley stations are within easy reach, making the development an ideal commuter base, plus the amenities of Lichfield city centre are just a five-minute walk away.
