STYLISH SHOW HOME MAKES A SPLASH IN FORMBY

LESS than a mile from the beach and close to “Millionaires’ Row”, a new show home in Formby is turning the tide on the notion that living in the aspirational neighbourhood is only for the rich and famous.

A new wave of homes is taking shape at The Dunes, off Lenton Avenue, an Elan  Homes development of 23 properties.

To showcase the three, four and five-bedroom designs, the homebuilder has opened the doors to a four-bedroom detached Halstead show home.

Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, said: “With seven figure price tags often attached to properties in Victoria Road, it’s often called Millionaires’ Row but homes in the neighbouring streets are available for a fraction of the cost. The homes we’re building at The Dunes are a prime example and to help inspire potential purchasers we’ve opened a professionally styled and fully furnished show home. Viewing the showcase property will give buyers a real insight into the carefully considered layouts and the superb specification we offer.”

Spanning 2,081 sq ft of generous living space, the Halstead show home has been dressed by Stanza Style using a palette of earthy tones of mink grey, taupe and burnt orange to create a warm and welcoming environment.

Alex Egan, from Stanza Style, explained: “Visitors to The Dunes will be able to imagine themselves living in the show home as we’ve styled it as a real family home with lots of personal touches. For example, the utility has been accessorised with a picnic hamper – ideal for a day out at the nearby beach of squirrel reserve.

“There’s a budding artist’s bedroom complete with a mural on the wall and accessorised with art materials. We’ve also created a basketball themed bedroom with a clock made out of sports shoes.”

Alex described this sporty room as a “decent sized bedroom”, which also features a den area with swivel gaming chairs, a TV unit and tables.

In the master bedroom there’s deep damask wall paper with an accent of burnt orange and a head board adorned with crystals for a touch of glamour.

A pussy willow bed head with matching cushions in the remaining bedroom adds a splash of colour to the earthy tones.

“We’ve made the most of the space and natural light on the landing by furnishing it with a silver dressing table – it’s perfect for applying makeup – and have also added a full length mirror so that the complete look can be seen,” Alex added.

The combined kitchen, breakfast area and family room is at the heart of everyday living. Styled with geometric wallpaper in burnt orange to the feature wall, with a two seater chaise corner sofa and glass dining table with white chairs, it’s a sociable space where families can relax together.

In the lounge the mink grey and taupe tones are offset by a rust coloured rug and walnut tables plus circular mirror over the fire place. A pair of three-seater sofas emphasise the spaciousness of this room.

Vertical striped wallpaper in the dedicated dining room creates a wood effect, and is complemented by ombre curtains, plus white high gloss dining table with mink grey suede chairs.

“The dining room is enormous with plenty of extra space – you could easily fit an eight-seater table in,” Alex suggested.

“The study is also a great size, with a nice big window offering lots of natural light. We’ve furnished this room with an oak table, oak leaner shelf, upholstered chair and thick rattan baskets.”

Current availability at The Dunes includes three and four-bedroom homes with prices from £389,995 up to £654,500 for a four-bedroom Halstead, like the show home.

The show home at The Dunes is open Thursday to Monday 10am to 5pm. For more information see www.elan-homes.co.uk//the-dunes.
