WORK is underway to create a new 78-home development in Loggerheads, near Market Drayton.
The housing scheme will lead to additional investment in the wider area, with Elan Homes committed to supporting the growth of the neighbourhood.
Madeley High School and St Mary’s CoE Primary School will share more than £250,000 as a result of homes being built at Brook Meadow, south west of Mucklestone Road.
The first properties at the development are due to be released for sale in spring 2019 and prospective purchasers are encouraged to register their interest now to be kept informed of Elan’s progress.
Sales Director Marie Morris said: “Work starting at Brook Meadow comes just weeks after we opened the show home at St Thomas Priory in Baswich. It’s an exciting time for Elan and for home buyers as we expand the business, offering a wider choice of properties in Staffordshire. At Brook Meadow we will be selling 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes, all built to the exacting standards buyers have come to expect from Elan. We also recognise the importance of investing in communities and as we’re building predominantly family homes, it’s fitting that funding has been allocated to local schools.”
Elan will be working with a registered social landlord to provide 20 affordable homes as part of the development.
Public open space and a play area will be provided at the site, which includes an area known locally as Leighton’s Drumble with a narrow strip of broadleaf woodland and a small stream, Tadgedale Brook.
Funding has also been ring-fenced for travel plan monitoring.
