TWO fun children’s bedrooms inspired by the local area feature in a new show home in Tamworth.
Dosthill Gate is a 37-home development being built on Dosthill Road. To help buyers imagine themselves living there, Elan Homes enlisted Birmingham-based Edward Thomas Interiors to design and style a show home.
The development is less than a mile from Dosthill Park Local Nature Reserve and around two miles from Tamworth Snowdome, both of which have influenced the theme of the children’s bedrooms in the show home.
Tracey Ball, regional sales director for Elan Homes, explained: “We understand the importance of children feeling involved in choosing a new home. Having bedrooms they can relate to in our show homes helps excite them about the prospect of moving and having a new bedroom of their own. Feedback from families is they love the looks created in our show home at Dosthill Gate.”
The show home is an example of the Woodhall, a generously proportioned, double fronted four-bedroom family home. Accessed via an elegant, canopied porch, it offers 1,350 sq ft of carefully considered living space.
Andy Richardson, managing director at Edward Thomas Interiors, said: “The Woodall at Dosthill Gate boasts a sophisticated interior with a rich teal, emerald and gold colour palette to bring warmth and vibrancy to a neutral base. Sumptuous materials such as satin, velvet and silk are incorporated into the soft furnishings and drapery, while elegant wall treatments including panelling, colour block painting and feature wallpapering ensures this home has plenty of character.”
The open plan kitchen, dining and family room spans the width of the property and is destined to become the heart of the home. French doors open out from this sociable space onto the garden.
There’s a separate lounge at the front for quieter relaxation, plus a study, ideal for working from home. A practical utility to keep the washer and dryer out of the kitchen, and a convenient cloakroom complete the ground floor.
“The Woodall is a home for entertaining,” Andy added. “In the spacious kitchen/diner, there’s plenty of room for a six-seater dining table, two-seater sofa and freestanding bar, meaning visiting friends and family will have ample room for socialising. A separate ground floor home office is stylishly furnished with hairpin leg desk and freestanding ladder shelves.”
Upstairs, all four bedrooms are a good size. The main bedroom benefits from an en-suite to complement the family bathroom.
“The main and guest bedrooms ooze luxury, both featuring bespoke headboards in velvet fabric. The gold and black toucan patterned wallpaper in the guest bedroom also make for an eye-catching backdrop,” Andy explained.
“The two children’s rooms were inspired by the local area. Near Dosthill Gate is the Tamworth Snowdome, so one of the bedrooms has an impressive snowboarding theme complete with wall-mounted snowboard and contrasting wraparound wallpaper depicting snowy trees and a wooden cabin. The other draws attention to the parks and River Tame which neighbour the development and features a charming woodland theme with tepee style bed.”
Current availability at Dosthill Gate includes a choice of two, three and four-bedroom homes, with prices from £255,000.
The show home is open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5pm.
